It was Raymond's number calling "Hello dear!" Ella answered as she picked up the phone. "Hello!" The caller replied (it was a females voice she heard). She looked at the screen again to be sure it was Raymond's number (what could be wrong with him? But he just left my place 30 minutes ago....she wondered. Could he be in danger? Why is it someone else that's talking and not him or could it be some network ish? She became more worried). The caller quickly replied "Did I just hear you say "Hello dear"? She questioned Ella. At this point, Ella was forced to ask "Who is this please"? "Yeah,its me Raymond's girlfriend" and before Ella could say Jack Robinson, the caller continued " please I want you to end any form of friendship or relationship you have with Raymond" . Ella became weak immediately and all she could say was "OK". I have never been this embarrassed and humiliated my whole life....she thought and immediately swore never to have anything to do with Raymond again. Where she was soliloquizing,she didn't realise somebody had entered her room. "Babes! Why are you talking to yourself"? Her friend (Nicky) asked "Hmmm...nothing" Ella replied. "C'mon girl! When did you start keeping things from me? Tell me! Who is making you sad? You couldn't have been talking and yourself and didn't even realise my presence as I came in if nothing is wrong. Talk to me! Who is it? Is it Raymond?" Nicky insisted. "Hmmm...yes,its Ray" Ella answered as she burst into tears like a car engine that had just been ignited.
"Sorry dear" Nicky consoled her as she patted her on the back and reached for her handbag and drew out an handkerchief to wipe tears off her face. "Stop crying,its okay. BTW(by the way),what exactly did Ray do?" Nicky continued. "Its his girlfriend that called me,whereas Ray denied not having a girlfriend that he called it quits with this girl 5months ago. Now,I received a call from this same girl with his number who was telling me leave her boyfriend alone. Nicky,I have never been this embarrassed and humiliated my whole life" Ella explained further as she cried harder.
"Jeez! What da heck is wrong with Ray? Why would he allow you to experience such humiliation? Sorry hon,you are a strong girl. So,don't accept defeat. After all,the girl might just be one of those side chicks that are jealous of you and are trying everything to rip you both apart cos Raymond doesn't look like a player" Nicky consoled. "I got a plan. Let's give him a call to know what happened" Nicky suggested. "Not with my phone" Ella responded. "Okay,I understand you don't need to speak with him. I'll do the talking. You just hand me over the phone" Nicky suggested further.
Ray's phone rang and he picked up "Ella?" he called "Its Nicky" she replied "Nicky, please where is Ella?" Ray questioned "She's here with me. And who was that girl who pulled that stunt? Nicky sounded harsh this time. "Nic please I can't explain all on phone now. Where are you girls?" Ray asked as he spoke with a shaky voice. "We are in Ella's place" Nicky replied. "OK. I'll be there in a bit but please don't tell Ella I'm coming over" Ray pleaded.
Five minutes later, the door bell rang and Nicky rushed down to the door to check who it was. Lo and behold! It was.......
