READY TO CLIMB?

I saw a picture a of a man a while ago who was huddled next to a fire, burning some sticks of wood. Beside him, lay some sticks. The way he held his hands out to the fire, anyone could tell he was really cold.
Behind him was a wall; a tall wall. He was enclosed within tall walls all around. On one of these walls, leaned a ladder and several rungs had been broken off the ladder. It was the rungs that he burnt to make a fire. This man had two problems: He was TRAPPED behind tall walls and was COLD. He solved one of his problems (the COLD). But the way he solved that problem was unsustainable- cos one day, the wood from the ladder would finish. At the same time, he had effectively ensured that he would NOT be able to solve the other problem- his ENTRAPMENT. He won't be able to climb out since he had burnt up the wood of the ladder to keep himself warm. He had burned up his present(the ladder) for his future(climbing out) and lost the only opportunity he had. He didn't want to die of cold, but will eventually die of hunger due to his foolish choice .He damned his escape for his present situation.
We all make decisions and it seems like the best choice at that time but actually not the best in real sense. Some things are GOOD but not the BEST for us.
That is why we all need to look and critically think about the QUALITY of the CHOICES we are make.
    Have a swell weekend!!!
    I smell Christmas already...lol
